And tomorow will be day 47. Not sure anyone could keep their sanity, alone, on a deserted island for that amout of time. I did call the DOJ for the first time today and they assured me it is in the mail. Now I think I have displayed an enormous amount of patients to wait to call till day 46. When did you call?

You should stop payment on the check and when they try to cancel your permit you should point out there hypocrisy!!! Poor Jeez they cashed his and are slow cooking him! utterly ridiculous!!!!!!!!

Hello to all.
First, I sent my app in on 11/7. My check was cashed on 11/20. I've been reading this thread for a couple of weeks as I wait for my permit to arrive. Decided to chime in after a call with DOJ today.
I spoke with a very nice woman today who told me that I should expect to receive my permit on or after the 25th. She said assuming they rec'vd the app on 11/10, 12/25 would be 45 days. I asked if she could look into my application status, and she said that she could not provide me with any information on my records as they really had no way to verify who I was on the phone, and that the database was confidential. While I didn't say so, I felt they could easily have asked me to verify my DL or SSN, and then provide me an update by the phone. If it's good enough for my bank to share financial info over the phone, seems to me it would be good enough for a permit application process. She was just sharing what she'd be told to say, and certainly not the rule maker.
She did tell me that there are (2) background checks that occur. I told her that I had a very common name, and she stated that they're probably taking a close look at mine to be sure who I am.
She suggested I write the AG a letter explaining my situation if I don't get anything by the first week of January. I'm not sure why I'd have to do that, as my understanding of the law was that the onus was on the AG to comply or report non-compliance. (re: 45 days notification). For now, I'm going to keep waiting for permit to arrive. I'm in no hurry, but am impatient at this point. Really, most situations like this are easily solved by communication.

Several day's ago I read of someone else receiving there permit and there check had yet to clear. It would appear as the rules have been stream lined to help expedite the process! but giving away free permits thats a new one on me. Sounds like mayhem in the office.
