Day 44 and still nothing ...
Me think one does as the situation dictates.
That was not a smart thing to do. You had a obligation to "Immedediately and calmly tell the officer that you have a concealed carry license and are carrying a weapon." You did all of us and Law Enforcement a dis-service. You did nothing positive. That is the law, and that is what was in the pamphlet you got in the mail, with your permit. Are you looking for support on this stunt? I suspect there was more to this story.
Just checked the mail and recieved my permit.
Check cashed 11/21
Permit # 31XXX
I hope the waits shorten substantually for the rest of you guys. It is rediculious.
Here knock yourself out http://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/2011...ed/acts/35.pdf
The law states "Possession and Display of License: At all times during which a person is carrying a concealed weapon, the licensee shall have with them their concealed weapon license AND their photographic identification card (driver license or identification card). Both the license and identification shall be displayed to a law enforcement officer upon request."
He never asked, nor requested. If he would have, of course I would have complied.
Wow that is very cool jpeetz. Carry with care and now practice practice practice.
When I first read his story I thought he was asked by the officer it is appearing he was not and therefore is under no obligation to declare by law.
I amended my thread to reflect that.
It finaly came today. Day 45 since mailing!
