That would be an excellent business opportunity, once you hurdle the start up costs.

Actually the cost of the permit is $37.00 with $13.00 going for background check. That amounts to $2,405,000 for the state.
Also the following info is what it said in the law [i recall previously posting the actual wording of the 45/21 day time frame in the law] and somehow it has now become 21 day process time as of December 1.
"In order for DOJ to handle what is expected to be an initial
flurry of applications, it will have up to 45 days to process applications
for the first four months that the law is in effect. After this period,
processing time will permanently be no longer than 21 days."
Regardless of what the time table is there is no recourse for us. It appears for those that have not received their permits feel the DOJ is worthless at best. I do believe they are trying the best they can when you are a government agency.

Sadly, it is not unusual for some. There never seemed to be any real set pattern to the DOJ issuing permits. Some have received their permit quickly, others a long time, and those that received permits before someone that mailed their applications days/weeks earlier. All one can do is start the wait process and hope for the best.

It is 45 days after the DOJ receives the application. If you did not send application via certified mail there is no way you can prove when they received it. Also, the 45/21 day rule has no bite to it. For the most part all one can really do is wait it out.

my apalogies, but many of my freinds back home have been told to wait 45 days from when they were cashed to avoid to much camoshion becasue they are on day 40 from the check being cashed and no permit while a close buddy got his day 42 after being cashed not recived.
just i figure a good rule of thumb for thoes that did not send certified, and to give them more time to sort through and most likely will come

I hope you get it today!, this is ridiculous. They have abandoned the order of reciept. They are doing there best but unfortunately there are those who will be getting the permit beyon the time frame. It feels as an eternity.
