Congratulation to all that received their permits!!!
Utah has training requirements. However many of the courses offered in Wisconsin also cover Utah requirement NOT all of them do so you must check.
I have seen course that cover WI and Utah from 80-125 dollars offered all over the state.
The reason so many cover both is Wisconsin did not have away to license instructors so many of them got theirs in Utah.
Hello all,
Not sure if this is helpful to anyone, but just in case it is:
11/1: Mailed application
11/14: Cashed check cleared
12/20: Called DOJ. See note #1 below.
12/28: Mailed DOJ asking for an investigation of my application
1/3 AM: Received call from DOJ. See note #2 below.
1/3 PM: Emailed information to DOJ
1/4: License printed
1/7: USPS delivered #41,9xx to me
Note 1:
The person who answered the phone was very polite and told me that the count does not start on the day it arrives at the DOJ doorstep. In my case mine would have arrived on 11/3, but it takes the mail room 1 day to process. So they actually would have gotten it on 11/4 and that is when the clock would start. So for me 45 days would have been 12/19. She said that my application should be on its way and to wait a couple more days and to write a letter to the DOJ if I did not get it in a few days.
Note 2:
The person was very nice and implied without saying it that my application must have gotten lost. I was just so happy to talk to someone about it that I was not about to ask questions. She asked me to email her a copy of my application, supporting documents, and a copy of my cancelled check. I did not have a way to do this at work so I had to wait until I got home that night to email this to her.
I think my total wait was about 68 days (by my count not the DOJ's) but I lost count after a while, so that might not be exact.
If anyone has been waiting more than ~50 days I recommend sending the DOJ a letter politely asking them to investigate. Your mileage may vary, but it worked well for me.
Remember you must protect your rights this is what they have in store for us.

Great to hear of so many getting that little card, it has been a long wait for some, rec'd mine Dec. 6 have been carrying daily since, a little nervous at first, but that has passed as time goes on. Wife and friend completed training and mailed apps to doj dec 19,2011 checks cleared on dec.28, now the wait for them. Son will apply soon too, was a grad of police academy about 7 or 8 yrs ago, so paper work should not a problem. Well once again congrats to all who have received and to those who have not," Hang in there Baby" they'll be there.
Well at least the two Allis uniform cops seemed ok with open carry. The male cop right away said that they received the call of a person wearing a firearm and had to investigate. Public sediment won't change over night. Took years to condition the publics mindset to a socialist societal mindset. It will take even longer to fix.

But after his acquittal, and even after the Van Hollen memo, Krause contends, he was warned by West Allis police that if he wore a gun in the city he would be arrested again.
"During the questioning, one officer stated that had television camera not been filming, Plaintiff would have been taken to the ground at gunpoint, disarmed, and possibly arrested," the suit reads. For more see:

i dont under stand how that is legal for leo to do that to a law abading citizen just doing what is legal?
It is not legal by any stretch of the imagination. However as usual the criminals [who will never open carry and law enforcement knows this] make it harder for law abiding citizens since so many believe making moronic laws stop criminals.
No its not legal however in situations such as this it will be the innocent citizen exercising their legal rights that will have to pay to be found not guilty of not violating a law.
