In 2011, about 7 million Americans hold permits that allow them to carry concealed handguns. Here's hoping your friend is permit holder 7 million and 1....

Application sent the week of Christmas.
Issue date 1/12/12.
Received date 1/18/12

I feel very fortunate to have gotten mine as early as I did.

I hope all of you get your permit soon.

The only thing I can think of why I got mine earlier is because I filled out all necessary paperwork the day it became available online and put it in my desk until I decided to send it in. So during this "reshuffling" that happened mine may have been put on the top of the list because my application had a date on it from several months ago.

I've got a buddy who is waiting for the initial rush to subside. I told him to just put it in & wait it out. I've been ready for years so I sent it in on Nov 1st, 48xx a few weeks later.

crowman you are correct however the impact a certain event can have can and will affect the right to carry concealed. Plus he asked the question so we felt obliged to answer truthfully. Point taken.

Completely off topic, Has anyone seen the McDonald's add on the main page? I find it most interesting since here in NE W.I. most McDonald's have posted no concealed carry. Next time you go to the clown look on the door and see the pictures of no radios, skates etc. Look below that and in fine print it states no CC. It is not the proper legal size and honestly you will have to stare for a few seconds before you even see it. I find it humorous that they will advertise but than they don't want your business.
