I've actually had people with road rage think that I cut them off when I was no were near them, speed up in front of me and slam on the brakes as hard as he could to try to get me to hit his car, then jumped out and ran towards my car with a knife. I floored it in reverse, went around him, running a few stop signs until he stopped chasing me, then called the police. Among many other situations. I think people in Oshkosh have a false sense of security.

EDIT: I do hope you never have to use it tho :D

Got a question if anyone can answer. For my proof of training I used a copy of my hunters' ed. certificate. It was from many years ago so it's not in the best condition. a corner is cracked off by the date issued and the writing on my date of birth is kind of smeared together. My name, address and certificate number can still be seen. Will they look up the certificate number anyways? Or will I have to buy a new certificate, copy it, and mail it in again? That is the only thing I'm worried about. Also I mailed it on the 12th, it's now the 23rd, if they were not going to accept it as proof would they have sent it back to me already? Thanks :D

Only the DOJ can answer your question. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any set pattern as to how they process the applications.

    From the DOJ website:
If you have questions or wish to leave a message for the firearms unit staff please call 608-266-7314 and choose option 7, or call 608-261-8647.

Let's not go off on the deep end. That isn't going to happen. The Democrats will have to win the Walker recall election, (not going to happen) and win the Senate back and even if they do it won't matter because it will take a couple of election cycles to win back the Assembly because the Republicans have such a big majority. Until all three happen, they can't pass legislation to overturn it. It took a good decade for this law to get passed. It will take time to undo it, if at all. Not one state yet out of 48 before us has repealed their CCW law and there are states that are much more liberal than this state. If it was that easy to overturn and such a good thing to do, it would have been done by now.

That would be political suicide, There are to many moderate democrats with a voting base from rural areas not to mention rural republican rural areas. What your suggesting is W.I. will adopt draconian gun laws such as C.A. & NJ. That attempt would result in years of court battles, bringing hunter groups and recreational shooters out of the wood work. The People voted for a new direction in W.I. long before walker won legally, he stated what he was going to do. Now the losers can't stand it and have made a mockery of this state! The vast majority of the state is rural, just because the socialists and communists marched last year in Madison with the unions and welfare recipients. I keep seeing commercials saying how bad the schools have been effected, My sons teacher privately admitted that they have not been seen any reduction in funding and in fact a slight increase. My school taxes went down this year. Okay as far as the teachers paying more towards there health care yes they have seen an increase. (who hasn't) But they also admit that the school districts where some cuts have taken place needed the cuts due to poor management.

well, they did for alcohol (and it got changed back due to the increase of crime due to it). but there will never be enough support to do it to firearms. :)))
What ever you say I been working on this fight for over 20 years I know what they up to.
All it takes is the court to rule and your peace of paper is worthless.
