Id like to chime in here. Anyone who breaks into your home and does not retreat after being told to is subject to legally being shot. Anyone disagree?

    Not me!
I carry to protect myself and my loved ones from the BG's. Not to solve societies problems. That said: if more carried the deterrent would only have a positive overall effect on those problems.

I agree anbody I don't know entering my home is either really stupid or they have vary bad things in mind either way they need to be looked at with severe prejudice.

2001 prior to my wedding back in Jersey I was in bed and my neighbor down the block who I really didnt know was drunk as a skunk, enterd my back door thinking it was his house stumbled around and I heard his voice. dead ringer to my buddy's voice! I figured his wife tossed him out for the night. Told him to be quiet hit the couch, this guy got undressed and came in my room thinking he was in his bedroom! I turned the lite on this guy is as naked as the day he was born! scared the **** out of me !! I can tell you from first hand exp even a drunk knows the sound of a shotgun being pumped ran like hell down the block naked as a jay bird! cops returned his clothing and wallet!

When i get people like this in my class, i just shriek at what they might do, luckily I teach them better than this..
" that practically means he has to shoot at me"

All I can say is good luck with that situation. Unless I gave a key to my house to my neighbor it will always be a stranger. I do believe a reasonable person would agree that the stranger was there to do bodily harm. However I do believe that each situation is going to be different and that we also need to, hopefully, quickly access each situation as to shoot or not shoot.

I for one hope I am never in such a situation but I am prepared to the best of my ability to act when necessary.

Me thinks some of the low life's in Wisconsin are reassessing their "game plans".

RTC reduces crime: Studying crime trends in every county in the U.S., John Lott and David Mustard concluded, “allowing citizens to carry concealed weapons deters violent crimes. . . . [W]hen state concealed handgun laws went into effect in a county, murders fell by 8.5 percent, and rapes and aggravated assaults fell by 5 and 7 percent.”
Lott, “Crime, Deterrence, and Right To Carry Concealed Handguns,” 1996.

Good one! Racking a shotgun, with no shots fired, will almost always do the trick!

I'm sorry that happened but got to admit that post definitely creaked me up. I will also comment that all of the studies done raking the slide of a shotgun no matter the size or if there's ammo was said to be one of the best home defenses, almost everybody knows that sound if not from anywhere else movies. That being said movie or real life experience with such weapon almost everyone knows what they can do, S##@@ I would not stick around to find out if the shotgun being cocked and pointing at me was loaded or not.

I mailed my app 11/2, so assuming they received it on the 5th, check cashed on the 17th. So if my math is correct, I should receive somthing this week, by law

I agree it's funnier than ****. But at that moment when I saw that it was not my friend I really said to myself this guy is 15 feet from me I'm under the blankets I'm screwed! Thank god all I had to do was reach under the bed. If that was a real bad guy I doubt I'd have time to reach the 12 ga. It's something you commit to memory..
