I know this is day one for submitting applications, but why not start a thread to see just how long WI takes to review, background check, and issue CCW permits. If you get ANY action, post it, and keep it going to the top. Wisconsin, boldly going where only 48 other states have gone before!
That was a day wife and I rode up had members of the teachers Union throwing stuff at us. We spent a couple hours there before and after the signing, then rode north for the weekend.
Should have seen the one when he noticed I was open carrying.
I am still waiting, I applied Feb. 15 the check was cashed on Feb. 23. Should I be nervous???
As far as the whole "repeal ACT 10,Act 35 and the Castle Doc." I like to think that enough people would be against them repealing it that they would think twice and leave it alone. But then again we do not always elect the smartest people for the job.
Those are just a couple of liberal trolls, they are plentiful. I have faith that their effort will fail. Most of their signatures are bogus. What saves Scott Walker against the union cheat machine is voter ID.
Keep the faith and all that. I sure hope that everyone that isn't worried are right. I myself am worried, not to mentioned tired of Madison, and Milwaukee ruling the entire state. They seem to forget about the rest of us.
Just wait and see the restrictions they put in place on us should Walker get shown the door! Who ever goes against Walker may during the election support CC or may offer no opinion at all. Once in office though, they will fall right in line with Socialist Workers party obligations and stances! I doubt they will repeal CC, but they will pummel us with restrictions making it impossible to legally go anywhere, so come time to renew our permits the numbers will drop.
In order to keep this thread headed into the right directions, Mrs. Buckwheat wants to know who got a new permit in the mail box today and what is the number range? Above 80K? When did you mail.......
I think you are close, you should be good to go by the weekend. Please give us the update with the number range. (the US mail is good for about 3-4 days) I bet they processed already or today with be the issue date on the permit.
well im still waiting, i think itll be here soon, they cashed my check on feb 23, i have a friend that scared to apply, he has a class a misd battery, NOT domestic, he doesnt think he'll get it if he applies, I told him i think he will since it wasnt domestic and it was 8 yrs ago and it wasnt a felony
You are right, he will still be able to get it. I has a misd battery from an incident when I worked as a bouncer in Madison. Apparently removing a drunk got me and another bouncer the charge. I was young and did not fight the charge as I had more money than brains at the time and they said no time in jail so I hopped on the offer. Now over 15 years latter it still shows up on background checks for jobs. I wish I would have fought it.
Fleet Farm they rotate the sales on the hand guns you will not find a better deal. Kind of surprised me how how they have step up in the hand gun market.
Seen some outstanding deals on LCP,LC9 ect.
I need to get over there myself, maybe I'll take a wander over there today for my first concealed outing. I need to get them to order me another magazine or two anyway.
Not all of the location carry everything so check the weekly flyers if you don't see what you want check the next one.
The on line flyer is hard to use and does not always show the handgun deals.
i left doj a message about my permit and no one called back, i called in the afternoon, does any one know whats going on or if there is a number to directly talk to someone and not have to leave a message. And to add a second post to this, i was at a local cabelas, and i witnessed the most idiotic ccw permit holder ever. a lot of people were standing at gun counter looking at new handguns this guy walks up with a fanny pack and asks to see a particular handgun the worker asks for his drivers license he goes into his fanny pack pulls out his pistol to get to his drivers license and every cabelas workers was freaking the F out, cops came and everything.
I saw something like that happen at Gander but they took him in the back room. I feel like we have to "police" ourselves at times. Just like at the range everybody is a safety officier. Thats why training is so important. Just because you purchase a gun and had hunter safety, does not make you an expert.
Here a hope that many more arrive today, good luck to those waiting.
