I know this is day one for submitting applications, but why not start a thread to see just how long WI takes to review, background check, and issue CCW permits. If you get ANY action, post it, and keep it going to the top. Wisconsin, boldly going where only 48 other states have gone before!
Happy new year to all, to all the new people to the site welcome, be patient your permit is coming just takes a really long time. the wait is the worst but when it gets to you all will be forgotten but now it is time to keep your rights! Be safe and fallow the laws, It is worth the wait. this site is a grate place for support and is full of very wonderful people.
Also a side note, I'm sorry for liking so many posts I just don't have much time online at times, so instead of just posting random stuff I read everybody post and then "LIKE" good cements that I could not have said better if I tried and that I agree with. so if I like your post well said. Soon you will all get your permits, here is hoping it gets to you soon.
Nothing wrong with likeing something. I for one enjoy opening the notifications and checking out my likes. Even if they are ALL from THEONLYGHOST. LOL, Kidding. I often do the same thing, recently time is a fleeting resource for me and I am now a like-a-holic as well.
I just wanted to say I hope you have a very happy BIRTH DAY WD54241 :king:! You are always insightful on this forum and you are full of very good helpful advice. If I would have known it was your b/day earlier I would have gotten you some more duct tape to make up for all that was used to wrap your head during the wait for your permit. Best wishes my friend and many more!
Ok so on 3 we all start singing happy birth day to WD54241
I want to say "thanks" to everyone for all your opinions on a weapn to carry. I was looking for "other" point of views.....so thanks. If there is still more opinions out there.....I haven't decided for sure yet.....My take is if the only gun I could handle was a .22 then I still would be better off with that then nothing or something I woulnd't carry or couldn't handle. Fortunatey that isn't the case. I want to wish everyone a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR! AND i wish you all well for the coming year. This is a wonderful community with wonderful people. I am lucky to have found it. I wish all that haven't received their permits yet much luck that they come very very soon. I know what the wait was like and it wasn't fun. Now that we have our "right"......please remember to be safe and always obey their laws so we don't lose it.
Personally I am partial to Ruger they are very nice guns especially for the price I carry a P95 However I am a bigger guy and like the feel of a bigger gun. The Ruger LC9 is rather compact and my girlfriend who is 5' 2" can hold and shoot it as well as conceal it granted we have only tried at the gun shop, she is considering getting one.
Happy New Year To All. Be safe and if your drinking lock it up.
WG54241, I guess if it were my birthday id wander on down to the local gun shop and get some fancy new steel to play around with. Happy Birthday! And I hope it was a good one!
Funny you said that, all day I've been looking on the Internet at weapons! I've looked at many sweet semi & revolvers both new and used. I really like the P226 Combat but the price is out of my league, I would hear the wrath from the wife! I also really really like the SW model 24 snubie but again it's used and expensive. Perhaps a M&P 357 they have both the 357 and sig. I just don't know if the regular is a 357 magnum?? if it is that would be the upper end of my finances.
Thank you to everyone wishing me a happy birthday! Yea I've reach the official point in life I'm on the back nine of life. The big 50. In my mind I'm forever 21! Only when I look in the mirror I see the gray hair baldness and belly! "LOL" My loving wife likes to say I resemble George Costanza from Seinfeld! I really don't see her humor! Thank god she didn't say newman..
Happy New Year to everyone! lets all try and be responsible with our new rights and more importantly be SAFE!
No permit for me.... Guess ill keep waiting.hope it doesnt take 53 days. I hate waiting. Seems like the november apps are taking even longer now. oh well what can you do.
It would seem that if you use a 7 day week they are mailing about 620 a day. Now that is an average and we all know from school ...correction some of us know there is no such thing as average. If you consider the first couple weeks were slow, then they added some help so daily rate went up. You can bet they are hitting a much high number now.
Disappointed again today after my walk out to the mailbox. No permit! Will have to try again on Tuesday because I believe there is no mail on Monday. Today is day 42 by my count. It will be a happier New Year once my permit shows up. I should have waited until Dec. 1. I might have it by now. Grrrrrrrrr!!!!!
So i figured it out and being generous for mailing time jan 2 will be 45 days for me. So to keep you all entertained i will just start counting down the days. So taday is day 43 and the best i can hope for is day 46.
I GOT MY PERMIT DEC 21 st !!!:image035::smiley2:........:22a::blink: ......:smoke23:..:scratchchin:....:smoke23::tongue::tongue::tongue::tongue::danceban:
Maybe the last day of the year will bring good things to those waiting.
I am waiting for 6:02 to come. My 48 hours will be up and I can pick up my new Ruger LC9 with CT laser. Thanks for a nice associate at Scheel's that will stay a few minutes after close so I can get it today.
Seen a few who have an LC9 and I am looking for suggestions for a IWB holster.
Happy New Year!
I finally read through the entire thread (phew :blink! Dropped my application in the mail today. I wanted to send it with delivery confirmation, but the counter closed early today. :duh: With the holiday I'll give them a 5 day grace period.
Best wishes to those who've been patienlty (and not so patiently) waiting on their's and have a happy news year.
While many have owned fire arms this maybe the first handguns some have owned. If you have not considered how you plan to store it when not in use now is the time.
How do you plan to secure it in your home? How about in your car? Is locking in the trunk really secure?
There are a lot of option out there some expensive some not, some great to good some really bad. An unsecured firearm in you home is dangerous but one to secured or where you can't get to it and unloaded is worthless.
While your waiting is a good time to think about these things.
Protect your right.
Any suggestions here? Particularly locking up in the car? I have a generic push button pistol safe that I was considering bolting to the floor in the passenger side of my car. I don't often carry passengers. I was also considering a Titan gun vault. My concern is that this would be too visible and be a target. The trunk (in a safe or otherwise) is probably not an option as I want to be able to stow the pistol before I get out of the car.
Oh, also since this is my first post on the forum...
