Glad to see that PA is restoring rights to its citizens. Even though I live in FL, I was born in Philly. Make sure that the support for this bill can withstand a possible veto. Your governor has not comitted himself, yet! The streets running red with blood has not come to pass here in FL.

Good point, Phantomphixer. That motivated me to write the Governor!

    Dear Governor Rendell:

I recently sent a message to my state Representative Sandra Major regarding HB 2231. The text of this message I have enclosed below. I urge you to consider the importance of this issue and not be dissuaded from supporting it. The evidence of decrease criminal activity accompanies the increase in legislation favorably disposed to the Second Amendment and the individual's right to have and use firearms in a legal manner. Similarly, the evidence of increased criminal activity is rife where those rights are curtailed. Thank you for your close attention.

    Sincerely,

    [signed with address]

Concise and to the point. Even Ed should be able to comprehend that!

This back in from Rep. Major's office

Representative Major asked me to answer your questions concerning HB2231. This legislation is still under consideration in the House Judiciary Committee. Several of the District Attorneys in PA have raised serious concerns about HB2231 that must be addressed before the bill moves forward. If the legislation is not voted on by both the House and the Senate by the end of November of this year, the legislation will have to be re-introduced in the next session. You can address your concerns to: Mary E. McDaniel, Executive Director, Majority House Judiciary Committee, Roon 22, Ryan Office Building, Harrisburg, PA 17120.

PA is doing the same thing that Florida did as far as the Judiciary Committees are concerned. Based on what happened here, the concerns voiced by some of the DAs will be addressed to their satisfactions. Probably looking at next year for action since the Senate hasn't had a chance at the bill.
