If you leave your car in the driveway with the keys in the ignition are you "freaked-out" with fear tha it might start-up and run over someone?? _____NO, not gonna happen.

If there's a round in the chamber AND the trigger/trigger guard are covered properly by the holster (and there's nothing else in the pocket) _____ NO, not gonna fire.

It doesn't go off by itself.
Something has to pull the trigger.

I don't even think about it. I use only good holsters that cover the trigger. If I am pocket carrying my S&W 642 (usually in cargo shorts, cargo pants, or jeans), the gun and holster are the ONLY things in the pocket--nothing else. The trigger is completely covered by the DeSantis Nemesis holster. If I am IWB or OWB my 1911, the trigger is completely covered. With either gun, I DO NOT FIDDLE WITH IT! No problem.

I think the same thing about those IWB belly tuck holsters. What would I loose if it went off LOL. Not kidding I could not use one.
I carry to protect myself and my loved ones from the BG's. Not to solve societies problems. That said: if more carried the deterrent would only have a positive overall effect on those problems.

It does not freak me out any more than the concept of a car having the potential for the gas pedal to stick & the brakes not work.

This needs a little elaboration. How and why was it pointed at the speaker?

Maybe he didn't like what the speaker was saying?

Seriously, though, probably pocket carry, barrel pointed at the front of the room while seated.

You were sitting upright and the barrel was pointed up and to the front? Methinks you are wearing it wrong. <gg>

I've never even thought about that in the nearly three years I have been carrying. Mine is in a good holster and when I am seated, points more towards the ground than anything. I have no worries that it will go off.
