I started almost a year and a half ago. I'm 32 now so just after my 30th birthday. I moved to NH from MA almost 5 years ago and never thought about carrying until my kids came along and my priorities changed.
Today, I don't go anywhere without my handgun unless I have absolutely no choice but to go unarmed. But then, I will NOT relenquish my folder or OC. Same thing goes for my wife.

<----My LT was unhappy that I did not have my PASS-Tag at that fire. But I found the body so he said he would overlook it. :)

Just got my CPL last Friday. Im 46yrs old. I am glad to have picked up a new interest. Im going to check out IDPA tomorrow.
I was 27 and in GA when I received my first permit. I didn't carry concealed except when I accidentally broke the law (New Mexico) because the internet back then (1988 to 1992) wasn't around for normal use (we had mil-net at work but it was such a pain that no one used it for personal use). I then moved to NY (stationed) and having guns without a permit (just to have) was a no-no :( .
When I moved to GA I found out it was a shall issue state and got my permit without a problem. I've been carrying since then.
When I lived in N.Y.S. I had a "transport"" permit from the age of 21 to 25, when I recived a actual conceal carry permit. There was a little gap, when I vacated N.Y.S. and arived in F.L.. Due the fact I had to go through my state G license training, then checking my mail box everyday, with fingers crossed. After a month of waiting, I got my Florida CCW G, amd D permits.
I was 24 when I got my first CCW permit.
I was still in the Navy and stationed on a ship that was in the shipyards in Pascagoula Mississippi and living just across the state line in Mobile County Alabama.

They are left in full possession of them."

First started carrying with New Hampshire License To Carry at age 28 in 1978. First carry gun was Ruger .357 Magnum Security 6.
my friend wanted me to go out and drink on my 21st birthday, i had to let them down because the next day was the permit class, very few moments have passed that i havent been armed since. my first carry gun was a ruger p95dc that my father gave me for christmas
I started at 45 years of age, when we moved from the Sheeple's Socialist Democracy of Illinois to Florida.
I carried "traveling" on and off for several years. I got the CHL this year at age 50. I carry all the time now.
I started 3 months after my 21st Bday...took the CHL course on my B-Day with my Dad.

Wow , this is like Truth or Dare
I was born and raised in a small city - no close relatives who
hunted or did target shooting , sooo , I never fired a gun ( except bb and pellet guns ) until I went into the Army after high school.
Playing with all Uncle Sams toys got me Hooked !
After that I bought a lot of toys , but being in NY , I
never had a carry permit.
About 2 years ago at age 53 I moved to PA

"If I walk in the woods, I feel much more comfortable carrying a gun. What if you meet a bear in the woods that's going to attack you? You shoot it."
I started carrying in 65 shortly after I got out of the Marines and I saved up enough money for a pistol. Found an old Spanish made pistol in an odd 9mm cal. Still have it. It is retired. Finally got a CCL a little over two years ago. It is nice to be legal and not worry about being caught. I am going for a Utah permit to cover the states that mine doesn't.
