    A New One For $4500:

No, not a new one for me, new as in NEW GUN:

Dan Wesson Titan 10mm. Weighs 4.8 lbs or 76 oz - Unloaded. The PRICE! $4500 !!!

That's more than Wilson Les baer etc. (My first new car, in 1968, a VW Bug, cost $1800.)

Some 1911 guys don't like the look. I do, sleek and nasty.

At 4.8 lbs., you'd need a helper to Carry it with you.

Until I saw this I didn't think anyone could ever ruin the 1911 platform. I was wrong.

What in the world is it made out of? 4 lbs? That is one heavy handgun. Even my Ruger Super Blackhawk weighs in just under 3lbs. It's a tank of a gun too.

Cause I think that is ugly. I always hated big fat magwells for one. I dont like the hammer, the trigger guard, or the rail either. And what is with the silver thing at the tip of the barrel? Need I say more?

The gun looks fine, it's the weight that is not. My hunting rifle with accessories weighs in at 7lbs.

4.8 lbs, 76 oz, UNloaded, almost a 5 lb gun empty.

Made of a LOT of steel - ALL steel.

If I had the money - I mean lotsa money - I'd buy it. Wesson has an excellent reputation, and the recoil in this at that weight must be easy as pie. .

Unless their website is messed up, that is a picture of the Elite Mayhem, .40 cal. and the MSRP is $3900.00.

The Elite Titan is the 10mm offering and the MSRP on it is about $3825.00.

The TITAN is based on an “All Steel” hi-capacity version of the 1911 frame. Turning the most well known defensive pistol “1911” into a true combat handgun was no easy task. Melding caliber with capacity was foremost in the design process. Our choice of the monstrous 10mm was chosen based on the fact that the 10mm delivers more foot pounds of energy than a 45 acp and packs14 rounds in the magazine ending the debate over capacity. Sight configuration was also imperative. The rugged HD night sights are moved forward and recessed deep in the slide yielding target accuracy and extreme durability. The Snake Scale serrations’ aggressive 25 LPI checkering and the custom competition G-10 grips ensure controllability even in the harshest of conditions. The combination of the all steel frame, bull barrel and tactical rail enhance the balance and durability of the most formidable target grade combat handgun on the market. The TITAN brings assurance in an uncertain world.

Nice gun, but that would buy a whole collection of Glocks.
