I would probably carry at least that much if I lived that close!

Usually one spare mag. Not because I think I'll need the round count, but because the drill for clearing a malfunction may require replacing the magazine.

Not enough to justify shooting faster than I can get a fight influencing hit on what I need to shoot.

Usually my G19 with one spare mag, sometimes two so 31 or 46 rounds. For the few occasions I carry my J-frame I usually have two speedloaders, I guess you could say that is optimistic (or perhaps pessimistic, depending on how you look at it) but it doesn't hurt to carry it so why not?

+1 on the extra mags needed not because of rounds but because of malfunctions. I normally carry two extra mags, weak side, 4 o'clock with my G19, strong side, 4 o'clock.
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

Usually 1 extra for double stack mags and 2 for single stack mags.

Your firearms use clips? That's interesting; mine use magazines. Clips are used in Garands and Broomhandle Mausers. :)

FYI, the two are different items and the terms are not synonymous.

Just one extra mag or one speed strip...depending on which gun.
Exceptions to the rule are when traveling to Jax or Orlando...then two extra.
