I would rather live my life as if there is a God,
And die to find out there isn't, than live my life
As if there isn't, and die to find out there is.
God Bless
Few people actually know I carry other than my wife and children. If the subject comes up, I do not discuss it generally.
Lefty: "Like OMG!!!why do you need that thing? Its so not necessary."
Me: "Necessary?? Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine? No...but its sterile and I like the taste!!!"
One of my favorite lines (guess the movie). I dont even give them the time of day anymore. if they want to be uncomfortable around me, I say let 'em.
Easy. I am getting old, a fused ankle + bad knee. I can't win any races
Everyone assumes I do, do to what I used to do. The comment is normally "oh, we know he carries a gun because of what he did in the past "... and I just never say a word.
I don't make jokes. I just watch the government and report the facts. --- Will Rogers ---
Chief Justice John Roberts : "I don't see how you can read Heller and not take away from it the notion that the Second Amendment...was extremely important to the framers in their view of what liberty meant."
The only people that should know you carry are the ones who are closest to understand why you carry. IMO.

I don't advertise to everyone I know that I carry a firearm.
The ones who need to know, know.
.
I have to say that there are a lot of good responses on the thread. Thanks. Now that the CCL law is over 6 months old the subject does not come up as often. Thank goodness. Each side in conversion was very passionate early this year. Have a great 4th of July holiday. I will carry to the fireworks downtown if my wife make me go. The temp is going to be 100 or so.![]()

Oh by the way THANK GOD FOR GOV. SCOTT WALKER.
Some of my arguments:
Because an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. (actually, my Kahr CM9 fully loaded is just over a pound... how much cure is that worth?)
Because I choose not to be a victim.
Why do you wear a seat belt? - expecting to get in an accident?
Why do you lock your doors? - expecting to get robbed?
Do you have a spare tire in your vehicle? - expecting a flat?
Do you have a smoke alarm in your home? - expecting a fire?
Rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6, I want to be able to defend myself unlike you who think that they wont harm me if I comply.

I wish I hadn't told anyone. But the few that I have told, weren't skeptics and I didn't have to explain anything.
Still, in hindsight, I wouldn't have told anyone.
Once you tell someone, you can not control who they are going to tell, what negative slant they might put on it, and when their big mouth is going to cause a problem at the worst time.
