This is going to be one of those where case law will have to be made I thinks. INAL - you would be 99% in the free in clear to carry, keep it concealed, don't be stupid, and if by some strange fate you get caught and are asked to leave, be polite and ask which way is the quickest route to the exit, or to be escorted out so there is no debate as to you lingering.

If you have deep pockets and a lawyer on speed dial, by all means, push to see if they are in compliance. Privately owned or publicly funded. World of difference between the two on this issue. If it's public, then they must conform to 18.12.??? with the permanent screeners at each and every possible entrance, 100% of the humans entering the building must be screened, and IIRC they must provide a secure area for you to store your firearm during the duration of your stay.

I had this discussion with Dudley Brown about two years ago. It was in regard to a local mall hat had small print in the rules t one entrance. He said Colorado had no force of law unless you refused to leave. I don't understand hey you wold still be there when the cops arrive. They couldn't hold you against your will, that would be kidnapping.

Will be wearing my local-made leather/kydex IWB holster and a cover vest. May pick up the CCW badge and sash to complete my ensemble.
I like to make sure I get a sash color that really sets off my eyes!

Only if the sign is in plane view at all entrences of the building, and you actually have to see the sign.

Still does not matter. No penalties for carrying beyond the sign in CO unless you refuse to leave when asked/instructed. This applies to any and all places NOT listed in the rest of the statutes.

Sticks, I carry almost every day in Denver and CC. It has been my understanding that signs have no weight of law If found out and asked to leave you must or get charged with trespass. Every instructer I have had says the same thing. Metal dectors are a different scene altogether. Remember the fuss about Boulder CU? They stopped when they found out they would have to put in metal dectors.

Why not go directly to an authoritative source with the question? I have contacted the Denver Police Department directly with similar questions and they have always been helpful. Once you have their answer you can choose to follow their advice or not, but at least you will know the risks of hassle or arrest. Here is one contact that answered a question for me in December:

    Detective Dee Dra Jones
    Denver Police Department
    CAP Bureau/ CCW Unit
    720-913-6836 Office
    720-913-7063 Fax

And what response did you receive to your question?

More times than not, Law Enforcement do not even know the laws, or will give you their biased opinion of how it is. This is even more likely in a gun un-friendly city or county.
