Thats always a good read.
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain."

That might just hurt a tad!!
If you are going to shoot at Mimes, should you use a silencer?? ( Steven Wright)
Always brings a smile!!!
Those Grandmas are NOT getting ran over by some darn Reindeer.
Let's see... A .38 special, a 9 mm "gat" and a .45 acp. I think she has all her bases covered!
"The gun is the great equalizer... For it is the gun, that allows the meek to repel the monsters; Whom are bigger, stronger and without conscience, prey on those who without one, would surely perish."
While I commend her and enjoyed reading it, it still bugs me that this is even news.
That's just me tho. (And now grannie has been outed!)

Freedom doesn't mean safe, it means free.
The thing about "defense" is that it has practically nothing to do with guns. (As passed on by CCW9MM)
More power to her...

"Give this to, uh, Clemenza. I want reliable people, people who aren't going to be carried away. After all we're not murderers in spite of what this undertaker thinks."

Here, the biggest "age group" of people with CC licenses, are 60 yrs old +. Don't mess with older people in Kansas. They grew up shooting guns.
And probably a lot more that remember when it was "normal" to have a handgun in the glove compartment and a rifle in a rack in the window, so they don't believe they should need any license to protect themselves either. Since they live in smaller towns and the country, where open carry is legal, there isn't anyone going to say much either.

Chief Justice John Roberts : "I don't see how you can read Heller and not take away from it the notion that the Second Amendment...was extremely important to the framers in their view of what liberty meant."
Doubt the story is true, but entertaining never the less.

Had an insurance adjuster due to work a roof claim for one of my elderly (80 or so) female insureds one time. On the phone prior to his visit, I told him specifically, to come by my office and get me, and we would go see her together, so that I could explain what he was doing. Him being from "not around here", didn't listen. Sometimes certain adjusters don't want the agent to go along, probably scared I was going to strong arm him into a better appraisal or something, or just independent, I don't know. Anyhow, he goes over to this lady's house and proceeds to crawl up on her roof.
I then get a frantic call from my elderly insured, wanting to know if I know anything about "this guy up on my roof" and that he says "you know about it".
I assure her that it is alright, and she calms down, and promises to go put her .22 rifle away and not to point it at the adjuster anymore.
I told him later that I hoped he learned his lesson.
