    Interstate Carry?

I know this has been asked before, but I can find the info I am looking for.

My family and I are going on a little rd trip through mass, nh, vt and maine. Is it possible to carry through all these states? What need to be done to do it legally?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

I assume you're in Boston from your profile, and would guess that you have a MA permit.

NH, you can get a non-resident NH permit for $20. They arrive fairly quickly. VT you have nothing to worry about, no permit needed for CCW. ME non resident permit is $60, I believe state law says that they have 90 days to issue a permit to non-residents.

NH and ME can be done entirely through the mail.

So you are saying that I can carry in VT without providing them notice at all?

    Thanks!

What they need to do is issue 50 state legal CCW. This would cure alot of problems. I would even be willing to bet that crime in some areas would go down because they won't know who is carrying.

The problem with a 50 state CCW is that you have the federal government determining who can carry. Not a good idea. Remember who was president a short 7 years ago!

The act that was introduced this year to make CCWs from any state honored in all others that had concealed carry is a much better solution. Like driver's lisences are honored by other states CCWs would be honored. You still would have IL and WI not honoring any, but that may change.

So lets say I have my Class A in Mass and buy a reciprical license in NH.

The maps show that I can carry in PA and alot of other states if I have a NH license.

My initial license is from Mass. I live in Mass. Can I carry in pa?

    Please advise.

    Thanks!

    YES

The above website shows that a NH permit is valid in PA.
The 2 states you need to be careful with, are Michigan and Florida.
MI and FL will only honor a license if you are a resident of the state that issued the permit.
South Carolina is the same, but since NH is not valid there anyway, it's a moot point.

those of us in MD. I tend to think that would either force MD to go shall issue or to make CCW illegal and then they would have to revoke the permits of those privledged individuals who have permits allready.

    hmmm...
