I always know that I'm safe and can blissfully go about my business until that eerie music starts playing. When that happens, it's my cue to be alert to my surroundings.

I've always hated that and was JUST catching the end of "The Sting" (yeah, old movie but a fun one) the other night. Robert Redford is 'saved' from a female assassin in the alley. The woman is laying there dead with a silencer on her revolver. I made an audible gagging sound when I saw that and the movie is freakin 40 years old.

I love the endless ammo in the gun. It goes really well with the cocking the hammer on the Glock sound!

The least she knows the better for you and her. I've been married for a l4 years and this topic is a hot potato! I got her to the point where she wont ask anymore, although from time to time she will give me a hug for the sole reason for the Pat Down! prior to me going out. If were heading to Milwaukee or some other center of lawlessness she chimes in and "hints" which holster I should use. Your relationship must be getting serious if you felt theres the need to tell her. I explained it to my wife that I don't go through her purse, please don't treat me as a child. My wife has witnessed my arthritis make the ability to walk a challenge and she knows I feel like a walking target, which I am. Just use extreme caution who you tell.

It's not just the movies. All you have to do is look around and listen to people. Look at all the people who are obsessed with the life of so call celebrities. They thing if a celebrity says it or does it, then it has to be right. Not because the person knows anything, but because they envy the person. Look at "reality" TV programs, there is nothing real about reality TV, but millions of people are naive enough to believe it is. I think one of the biggest problem with this country is that people no longer think for themselves. They let the press and celebrities control their lives and thoughts.

My favorite part of movies is the education they bring as that is where I learned to really shoot. I even had sites installed on the side of my gun to one up Hollywood cause they always show people shooting with the gun sideways and one handed but how do they aim accurately.?? That is the proper way to shoot, right?

Very cool on the girlfriend wanting to not only shoot but now learn to shoot properly and carry. Almost have the wife ready to take her CCW. She loves to shoot and in today's world I think she feels having protection when I am not there is seriously important. Gotta love a great woman.
It's not a problem til they make it one!

You wouldnt beleive the conversations that came out of that...even some of the News Media was duped, thinking it to be the truth rather than a fabrication.

Lots of people still think that lead and copper plated bullets spark when they hit steel because most of the movies and TV flicks that you see show bullets sparking all over the place.
IIRC several legislative bodies contemplated or actually passed laws banning the elusive Glock 7 ceramic gun.

The proper response to the GF's comment:

"You realize that movies are not real, right? That they are made by anti-gun liberals with an anti-gun agenda, don't you? That guns in popular culture are designed to be propoganda to further America's brainwashing into accepting the Socialist nanny state where all citizens must depend on the government for everything and only the government has guns, like in China, North Korea and the Soviet Union."

People think sword fighting (stage fighting) is just like that in the movies with Errol Flynn or the Princess Bride.

I love it in the movies when the guy with the gun racks the slide for dramatic effect.
Jiminy Christmas ... if you're in a firefight, the daggone thing should already have a round in the chamber.
