Seems like flawed thinking to me. If I were looking for a victim, I sure wouldn't want to choose the ones that I 100% know are armed.
Looks like a good way to get your kiester shot off.
I trust Snopes about as much as I trust that imposter in the White House.
Just my 2 cent opinion.

Guy in my parking structure drives a BMW SUV with a big "GLOCK" sticker in the rear window. Why advertise that you are carrying by putting something like that on your car?
I drive a Toyota with a "Save the Whales" bumper sticker. What a surprise it will be for any future car jacker when I shove a Glock 30 in his nose. Hah!! Fooled ya.

It's the "meter maid gang" ..... that's doing it.

Best thing I got out of this thread is snopes.com. I never heard it before. So, I just spent an hour on there. Thanks!
An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.
Actually not a bad idea and it would work in a mid-sized community. But, a better way would be to lok for an NRA sticker, or any pro gun bumper sticker.
Been discussed before Pure Unadulterated Bravo Sierra.

I like to check things out on Snopes too, but it has been demonstrated that their own agenda bleeds through in some of the "facts" they report, especially with regards to political fact checks...they lean left and it shows; can't say it any plainer. Not to take away from the good work they do, but like everything else, caveat emptor.
Just saw this thread...I had talked to a buddy about 2 years ago when he came back from a shooting event in Texas. A lot of shooters went out to eat at a resturant, almost every car that belonged to that group was broken into and the guns stolen when they came out. To his knowledge, no ther car was targeted. He had told me these people didn't know each other, it wasn't like they came in a convoy from the event, but just wandered in seperately. After reading the OP, makes you wonder.
Was your buddy by chance at Grand Southern Skeet Nationals in Dry Gluff TX.
