Yes for Lodge and Star. Right now, I am practicing Don't ask, Don't tell. Your Grand Master can rule either way for his year. For permanent ruling, should be voted on by the craft at Grand Lodge Session.

I've attended Lodges that had a shadow-boxes, under the watch of the Tyler, for leaving them outside.

I'm just one root in a grassroots organization. No one should assume that I speak for the VCDL.
I am neither an attorney-at-law nor I do play one on television or on the internet. No one should assumes my opinion is legal advice.

Yes, I do remember, however we have had vehicles stolen from our lot, at least three break-ins, and recently, local miscreants used one of our parking lot lights for target practice. They managed to hit it three out of about 15 shots from what holes in the building we could count. And with the medium age of our active members approaching the late sixties, both male and female, I WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE AT MY DISPOSAL whatever I feel I need to assist in protecting my friends, brothers and sisters.

Aw, sounds like again we only obey rules that do not offend our sensibilities regardless if we made a promise or oath to obey them.
I carry to Lodge, however, I leave it with the Tyler outside the Blue Room during the meeting, pick it up on the way out.

offensive or defensive? Been a while, but isn't that just for EA's during their initiation. Never left my pocket knife with the Tyler. LOL just thought of this "Ground floor or checkered grips" Sorry had to say it.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.
I never thought about it. We do have the Tyler to protect against Cowans and Eavesdroppers.
