OOPS! I violated my employers no weapons policy!!!!

I almost messed up pretty bad last night. I walked into my place of employment with my SR9c still holstered in my CBST. I realized it after I got inside and walked maybe 50 feet and turned right back around and went back to my car. There are only a few of us there at night so nobody even saw me while I was still carrying. If I would have been fired, maybe I could have went after the folks at Crossbreed for making such a nice holster that I forgot I was carrying my weapon. Kidding of course. I am usually very careful about where I can/can't carry and looking for signage even though I know what the policy is at work. Just surprised I forgot to unholster before leaving my vehicle. How many of you have inadvertently taken your sidearm into work with you?

maybe not good to post you violated company policy on a public forum.... someone recognizes who you are and you end up losing your job for what you posted

After you carry awhile you can easily forget what you have on you. Its not something that is constantly on your mind.

I only do that when I work at home, aka my castle in PA. When going to office in NJ, I'm lucky to be able to carry a flashlight.

Once when I was a C.O. I walked in and stood roll call before I realized I still had my Spyderco clipped in my pocket. I told my shift commander that I needed to run out to my truck before I went to my assignment. He said "Do I want to know?..Nevermind....no I don't want to know"

Not worried about that. Nobody at work knows I carry much less that I post on this forum and know what my handle is.

I always tell such stories as happening to 'my friend'. While you can still edit it, suggest you change it.

    Do what I do.
I only take one specific firearm with me to work and back on a day in day out weekly basis.
I have a Nemesis pocket holster for it, and it stays in the holster while in the car to and fro.
If on the way home, I need to stop somewhere, I take it out, and put it SOB, with a factory clip, for which it was intended.
That way, the firearm stays in the vehicle.

I'm one of the lucky ones. My employer knows I carry and has no problem with me carrying at work.

Yeah but just like I forgot to take my pistol out of my holster before I went into work, what if you went into a gas station and the SHTF and some guy holds up the place and starts shooting for instance and you forgot to holster your weapon before you left your vehicle. Now you are without your weapon and SOL. I would rather have the gun holstered at all times. I can always find another job if I get fired for having a firearm. I can never find another me if I am dead.
