So you friend has a DUI AND spousal abuse charge?
I don't think you will get much sympathy here....could be wrong.
    Good Luck!

Not asking for your sympathy for him. He was adjudicated not guilty. So your paraphrase " spousal abuse " sounds quite incorrect. DUI he does have. Not asking for critique but for help.

A decent gun lawyer should be able to straighten it out in short order.

That's a hunk of change. How come I was under the impression the the NRA would help back up your gun rights in a wrongly action of government vs your 2a.

You get what you pay for, if you are lucky. If the gunlawyer route is too expensive, perhaps the ACLU will help out.

Your best bet is to get a lawyer; the NRA’s purpose is to fight for gun rights for everybody not to defend individuals in either civil or criminal cases unless they violate 2nd Amendment rights.

The NRA is not going to get involved in individual cases unless there are broader issues involved, such as Heller vs DC.

Something tells me there is more to this story than what we are getting.

Yes there is a lot to story. His ex was nuts and he kicked her out she beat her head on door. Blah blah neighbors called cops he went to jail. The woman never showed up. He was proven not guilty. But they are still trying t take his ccl.. who is the ACLU? And the only route is a good lawyer? Even though " all free men have right to bear arms" they are chopping his 2a.

His problem is that while "innocent untile proven guilty" is a nice saying, it takes a lawyer, and a lot of money to make that true.

Hate to say it, but he was probably his own worst enemy. If his ex was nuts, he should have just walked. I know, I know, its his house, he has a right to be there, etc, etc. And, that is all true, but, life just isn't always fair.

The NRA, ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union), or other national organizations are going to have to find a cause in there, and one judge taking one guy's CCL away isn't it. He needs a couple of lawyers - One a good gun lawyer, if he wants to keep his CCL, and a good DUI lawyer, if he wants to keep his DL.

I looked at the FL CCW permit application, it looks lie DUI is a deal breaker for 3 years.... he could try an attorney, but it might be a waste of $$. Some attorneys give a free first consultation, so he could see where he stands and if he even has a case.

Don't bother with the ACLU (Aging Commie Leftovers' Union) (really, they call themselves the American Civil liberties Union, what a joke)... they are anti-gun.

Tell your friend to stop drinking get into a program ,do all he can to show he has clean up his act . Since he was busted driveing once he will more than likely drive drunk again unless the gets help. And get a darn good lawer. He should be saying good by to his CC and drivers liecence.

I didn't see the part where he was adjudicated not guilty for the DUI. In Virginia they can snatch your CCW for that. For three years.
