    Which would you carry......

Here is my delima. I have to make a drive to Dallas in just over a month and have to decide which of my two handguns to carry. Each has its pros and cons but I only plan on taking one.

The choices are: Sig P250 9mm sub-compact, 12 round magazine and an OWB holster
Sig P238 .380, 7 round magazine, laser and a crossbreed minituck IWB

The plan is to get an extra magazine for each so lets just assume two magazines total, one in firearm, round chambered and magazine topped off and a spare.

I am leaning to to the P238. Although more shooting needs to be done, I found that I shot better with the P238 due to the magazine having an extension for the pinky to rest on, with the 250 I cannot get my pinky on the gun.

If it is a choice of 9mm or 380 I would always go with 9mm. But get what you shoot best. Caliber don't matter if you miss.

I said 380 for the simple fact that not all states allow open carry and you will be stopping for gas, restrooms and food. A concealed weapon on you trumps one in the car. I would change my vote if you had an IWB holster for the 9mm.

I actually carry both, is that not an Option?

I carry the P250 SC in an IWB Kholster and then the P238 in a pocket Desantis holster. I also have an IWB Crossbread type holster for the P238 when I want to go light. It was made by a local guy, top quality. But then I carry a SOAB 6 and my P250 SC is in that.

I would take the P238, but that's just me.

Go with the Sig, I took mine on a 6000 mile trip out west. 380 caliber should be fine in warmer months. Easiest concealed.

Keep the answers coming. Currently do not have any plans on ordering an IWB holster for the 250. Last year I took a G19 along with 3 spare mags, all OWB and had no issues.

Not sure if it matters, but I find I make an easier victim per say. I have some mobility issues and move pretty slowly.

I'd go with the P250. You have time to practice with it and get the shooting down. You didn't say how you would be dressing, but I'm going to assume you will dress casually, at least for the trip. Untucked shirt will keep it concealed.

I would carry the Sig P250. I think a larger gun is a better idea when traveling. I always take two guns and carry a few spare magazines for my Glock 19 and 26.

Both. Carry 2 for options and if you lose one for some reason you got the other for protection.
