Other than 'packing.org' which has had a lot of down issues:blink: lately.what other sites can i get on to learn liscence issues.
i know a few have been mentioned here.
Seems to be more up-to-date than PDO. I'm not sure I trust PDO anymore, anyhow, considering the owner/operater seems to have left the ship empty at the helm.
It does seem handgunlaw is becoming the definitive other option - the most important aspect being not only access but - Gary is trying to keep things as up to date as possible.
Now this is scary.
i have reciprocity with some states per 'packing" and the list differs from the 'handgunlaw' website.
interesting....to say the least!
fortunately they are states i probably wouldn't frequent as they are sooo far away but still
Handgunlaw.us is the premier source for CCW info in one spot and is up to date. Packing.org is not up to date. The reason I know is I was the person who kept much of Packing.org up to date till last October. Since then most of the site has not been updated especially the reciprocity changes.
On Handgunlaw.us you will find all the info you need but most of all you will also find links to all the official state sites. Just click on All US CCW Links in the left column and the map that appears is hot linked to all the different states official sites. If you have any questions about the site just click on "Contact Us" At the bottom of any page and you will send me an email that I will answer ASAP.
For New Mexico, http://handgunlaw.us now sends the user to the New Mexico Department Of Public Safety Site which I find difficult to find any reasonable information equivalent to the packing.org site. Not really helping me there.
I agree. http://www.packing.org/ which is back up right this minute, is much easier to navigate. Hopefully they can get their hash settled there, maybe by eliminating postings, and get on with the business of providing easy-to- access accurate information for the benefit of all. How about it, Mr. Slider?
Packing.org will not eliminate the Chat Area. Packing.org makes money and to keep making money he needs hits. Chat generates the hits. The layout of PDO is nice but it takes a tremendous amount of work to keep up. I spent 4 to 6 hours a day everyday taking care of PDO and keeping the info up to date. Unless they find someone else to do that PDO will keep going down the path it is on now.
Handgunlaw.us is in the process of adding a Reciprocity map that you can generate yourself by checking boxes and it will show you what states you can carry in with the permits you have. Handgunlaw.us is moving forward. We have only been up and running a little over 6 months and we have a lot of people saying we are the go to site for CCW info. That says a lot right there.
Thanks for your reply, Gary. I look forward to the time when your new venture is as user-friendly as it is up-to-date. Hopefully you can get some of your time back into the bargain!
