These are some great links guys. Thanks for posting them. This era reminds me of my dad who was a marine stationed up on a hill a few miles from Pearl Harbor when it was attacked and continued to serve in the Pacific. God bless that generation.
What's scary is the kids today. They know no history. If anyone should be looking at these pictures, it's them.
I teach in a university. A few years ago I went to Poland for a project accompanied by 2 students assistants. One a grad student, very mature, the other a senior undergraduate, 21 yrs old. I went to Auschwitz when I was there. I can't say anything about that. Auschwitz is beyond speaking.
But a few weeks before leaving for Poland, the undergraduate senior asked me what I planned on doing in Poland other than the project. I told her a few things I planned and last mentioned I wanted to go Auschwitz.
This was her reply:
