Tennessee folks, Alabama CCWers need your help
It has come to me that Tennessee has decided that they no longer accept our ccw in their state. Alabama still accepts Tennessee's, Can the great people of that state contact their congressman and let them know that we want to be able to exercise our rights in your fine state legally. I for one will now not go through a state that doesn't allow me to CCW on the AL ccw. I use to do a lot of business in that state but until this gets fixed I will not. Lets just hope Alabama doesn't return the favor.

PIMking, can you show us something that backs up your statement? Unless something has changed very recently, TN recognizes AL permits. Where did you get your info? Hangunlaw.us still shows reciprocity.

Handgun Carry Permit Reciprocity Information
Alabama isn't on that list, and it's with my understanding that Alabama grants reciprocating only to those states that accept ours. This may turn into both states residents not being able to exercise their rights.

That doesn't say TN doesn't recognize Alabama HCP?
As far as I know TN recognizes all other states permits though.

This seems to say what I said?
Tennessee now recognizes a facially valid handgun permit, firearms permit, weapons permit, or a license issued by another state according to its terms, and will, therefore, authorize the holder of such out-of-state permit or license to carry a handgun only in the state of Tennessee.

Incorrect information. TN has never had a formal, written reciprocity agreement with Alabama. They do however, recognize the Alabama pistol permit, and vice versa.

We recognize all permits from any state come on up and enjoy the Smokey Mountains while open carrying your firearm of choice.

Some states "want" a written reciprocity agreemaent and TN will do so. But as already stated TN will honor all states that issue even though some do not honor TN.

PIMking, I believe you jumped the gun if that link was the only item telling you that TN didn't accept the AL permit. The paragraph that states that TN accepts any valid permit from another state is paragraph one for goodness sake.

Yeah, as far as I know you're still good to carry in TN with a permit from AL.
