BWW is a known as are Applebees and IHOP. Chick-fil-a, however, they are not posted in the SW corner of the state. Must be the local management. I bet STC would have a cow over that one.

Just for reference, here's the actual Ohio Revised Code found in ORC 2923.126

"(3) (a) Except as provided in division (C)(3)(b) of this section, the owner or person in control of private land or premises, and a private person or entity leasing land or premises owned by the state, the United States, or a political subdivision of the state or the United States, may post a sign in a conspicuous location on that land or on those premises prohibiting persons from carrying firearms or concealed firearms on or onto that land or those premises."

Emphasis is mine. There is no specification for the sign, so crayon drawing on newsprint meets the requirement. But it must be "conspicuous".

I prefer not to give money to those businesses that post, but I also don't go out of my way to inspect every square inch of the entrance for a sign.

And, as buckeye .45 mentioned, OFCC has a Do Not Patronize While Armed list that is constantly updated. Frankly it's much easier to list locations that don't allow firearms than to try and list all of those that do.

Jamaica and Mexico are not US territories. Puerto Rico is.

Frankly, I don't care. I could not care less if you take your weapons to whatever you think is a US territory. It is not me who will end in jail. I found your originally-quoted statement rather confusing, hence the emoticon. Initially I wondered if you had failed English or geography in high school. Your response cleared that up, thanks.

Yeah, considering I have a bachelors degree from Ohio state in business management... But it's neither here nor there because I don't care. Was just a question I had on my mind because it's easier to look up a particular establishment prior to arriving there only to find out they are gun free zone

The only establishments I know of that are routinely posted are Buffalo Wild Wings, and Applebee's and Fifth Third bank around here. Other than that, it is actually fairly rare for me to see a sign, unless it is downtown. If I am going somewhere and see a sign, I just don't spend my money there, and go spend my money at a local competitor. And then usually follow up with an e-mail letting the establishment know why I didn't spend my money there.

But with chains, unless it is corporate policy, it can depend on the Franchisee in your area. It also really does depend on your area. It seems to me the closer I get to downtown Cincy, the more signs I see. By the time you are 20-25 miles out, they are a rarity.
