I would share just for info...
My first permit was set to expire in Dec '06, and if thought that I better mail early...
I sent my renewal info in on o1 Sep 06 and just got it back...TODAY! That only took 2 weeks and 2 days...not bad!

I too am up for renewal soon - very beginning of 2007 - and that will hopefully be a short trip to County SO and max 30 mins to get processed

for a renewal in the Gunshine State you must...
*Notarize a statement that you have been a 'good boy'...
*Send a money order for $65
*Include a 'passport type photo' taken within the last 30 days
Within 2 weeks you should have a new CCW permit good for 5 more years!
I sent mine in early, thinking it would take much longer!

Just sent my renewal in on the 8th, because mine expires on the 30th here in Idaho and the sheriff said: "you should have the new one before your current one expires". Now waiting to get a call to go to DMV and get picture taken and pay $25 for 5 years.

Florida sends you a reminder that your license is about to expire. They tell you what you need to do (see above Thread...). Actually, they send you the form to fill out..."Yes, I was a good boy." I live at xxxx address, have it notarized...add a passport photo/new one...and a money order for $65.
Very simple...and very quick!

FL, unless you don't live there . . .

If a NR, you need to submit prints again, and another check for $42 for the "background check".

I'll admit that this has me a bit frosted. Prints are the same as the last time I got my FL CCW, same address, why do I need to pay an additional $42 to check my prints each time I renew, if a resident doesn't??

I'll probably send my renewal in around the time my FL NR CCW is about to expire (Nov 2006). Yes, they sent me all the paperwork about 1 month ago.

I renewed mine a few months back and I got the new one in less than two weeks. I couldn't believe it was that quick.
