About LinkBacksLike in my other post I am in the process of getting my lisense in Florida.... After reading a lot of forums and watching videos on YouTube about robbery and home invasions I feel it's a must to be strapped at all times ....

If you are "in the process" of getting your concealed carry license, I would strongly urge you not to carry outside your home. Be legal... it's not worth being a felon.

You get caught with an unlawfully concealed firearm and in most States you can kiss getting a permit goodbye

Don't get overwhelmed by the negativity of what you read on the Internet. Remember that most of what you read is a compilation of others experiences around the country and the incidents that you read about are spread over a large area.
Its always good to have a heightened awareness level, but you also don't need to focus on that exclusively. Get out and live life like its the last day you have,because it very well could be. Enjoy life. Dont let carrying a gun because your sole focus for exsistance,because it is not, its just a tool that for the most part is just dead weight... unless of course you actually need it.

There is a difference between practicing good situational awareness and being paranoid. If you lock yourself away and only go out to go to work, your being paranoid. Contrary to some of the videos you may see on line. A gun does not make you safe, nor is it the master of all situations. A gun is nothing more than one tool you can use. The best tool you can have and use, you already possess. It is sitting on your shoulders. Learn to open your eyes and actually see what is going on around you. Don't walk down the street texting, don't walk around with a cellphone stuck to your ear. Pay attention to your surroundings and learn to be safe.

I went to our development's pool today without my gun. I figured it would not be good to have it in the pool bag while the kids and I are swimming. I neither was mugged nor drowned.
You made in this far in life without the need for a gun, right? I think you'll be okay going to the grocery store until your permit arrives.
A handgun is not a talisman that wards of evil things. In fact, there's no guarantee you won't end up dead in the unlikely event that you need to use it. It should be just one aspect of risk mitigation.

The OP said it is a must to be strapped all the time. I took it to mean he either likes being strapped down, or beaten with a strap. Either way, it is action I want no part of.
Some people pay good money for that kind of thing...
