Upcoming Greyhound bus ride
I am traveling on a Greyhound bus to drive my parents here for a visit. I will be leaving a bad area and arriving in a bad area. I see "no weapons of any kind" are allowed on their buses. I also see the only penalty I would encounter is being trespassed and asked to leave the bus. I know they do not search or use metal detectors for boarding, given this if I follow the rules I will probably be the only unarmed person on the bus, sitting on my useless concealed weapons permit in my wallet. I am encountering this problem more and more at my bank and other places. I would be interested in a list of non-friendly establishments I can avoid doing business with. They seem to bury their anti-gun rules so you find out after initiating a transaction. Any such listing exist?
thanks for the input.

I do not advocate breaking any laws or rules. No one would know if I was carrying or not.

Well.. If police get involved, it could make matters much worse for you. You could just bring OC spray until you get home and have nothing to worry about. But ultimately, it's your call.

You need to be aware the just because they don't search there does not mean you won't be searched. If there are any intermediate stops you may be required to get of the bus. They might search before letting you back on the bus. Your choice then will be submit or walk. Depending on the laws of the jurisdiction where that intermediate stop its you could face charges.

JMO, but since it appears signs do have the force of law in SC,I would not do it. You also did not say what your final destination is, do signs have the force of law in the states you will be traveling through? Either way, by ignoring their signs in SC you open yourself to BIG problems if discovered. Is it really worth it? If it were me, I'd get myself a good sturdy walling stick to carry and use on the trip.

NO means NO and if you don't like it find another way to travel that works for you

You can pack a gun in your luggage now, but not carry. Have you checked into renting a car? -might be cheaper and definitely faster.

Rent a car, my fiance was on one of these a long time ago and a 12 hour drive turned into 29 hours and a huge PITA.

DHS has teams that 'pop up' now at AMTRAC and Bus Lines. And they do the full anal probing. It is now a part of decentizing us from our 4th A rights.
Ask the truckers in TN last year.

Oh, but you meet the nicest people on the bus! [sarcasm off]
To the OP - if your bus ride will cross state lines, that adds another layer of complexity to your situation. Do your research and keep it legal.

I am not insulting you,so take this in stride. Have you seen what rides the bus lately? Greyhound moved a terminal on IH-10 that is near my little city. I see the people waiting for that bus, wow! I would walk first or rent a car.

To the OP: Do not state on the internet your intentions of breaking the law. Also advocating braking the law is a no no on this forum I belive. I suggest you edit your post. I personally would rent a car if possible.

I've carried on Greyhound. The dogs they ran through the bus in Hattiesburg, Dallas, and El Paso never smelled it.
