    how the thugs think...

This is from the East Baton Rouge Sherriff's office...make sure to read the 3rd to last paragraph...
Incident: Armed Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, Resisting an Officer
09/18/2006Location: 12924 Coursey Blvd. - Chevron Station Parking Lot
    Incident Date & Time: September 17, 2006, 12:35 am
    File Number: 06-62484
Investigator: Sgt. Roger Corcoran, Cpl. Brent Travis, Cpl. Kent Landacre, Det. James Dipuma, Dy. Jamie Dunaway
At 0035 hrs. of Sunday, September 17, 2006, two (2) black males, armed with a dark colored revolver, robbed a female at gunpoint on the parking lot of the Chevron Station, 12924 Coursey Blvd. The two then fled in a dark blue, '94 Honda Civic. It might be noted that robberies involving individuals of similar description were currently under investigation by the Baton Rouge City Police, those robberies having occurred in the same general area (Sherwood Forest Blvd. near Coursey and Stumberg Lane), earlier in the evening.

East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office Armed Robbery Detectives, assisted by Sheriff's Office Uniformed Patrol personnel, first located the vehicle as it was proceeding in the area of Bluebonnet and Jefferson Hwy. The vehicle was subsequently stopped on Coursey Blvd., just east of Sherwood Forest Blvd.

Persons inside the vehicle who were placed under arrest were identified as follows :

    1) Ron Hall, black male, DOB: 3/10/88 of 8301 Ned Ave., Baton Rouge, La.

    2) Walden Dowell, black male, DOB: 5/01/88 of 1753 Starwood Ct., Baton Rouge, La.

    3) Tyrice Harvey, black male, DOB: 12/01/85 of 8855 Coy Ave. apt. 3, Baton Rouge, La.

Hall and Dowell were both charged with Armed Robbery. Harvey was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery and Resisting an Officer.

A fourth person was also arrested. That person was identified as the clerk of the Chevron Station, identified as Prince Howard, black male, DOB: 8/21/83 of 8393 W. Wadsworth Ave. Baton Rouge, La., who was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery. Howard knew Ron Hall from Hall working at a nearby business and the two residing in the same area. Following the robbery on Stumberg Ln.(investigated by BRPD), Hall and Dowell stopped by the Chevron Station at which time they spoke with Howard who was working at the station. Howard suggested they rob customers at his station as it would be easy and also suggested that they rob a business on Highland Rd. where Howard had previously worked, noting that the clerk they would be easy to rob.
Baton Rouge City Police Armed Robbery Detectives assisted in the investigation and additionally charged Hall and Dowell for their involvement in the earlier robberies.

All of the suspects were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

I noticed the three robbers are residents of Baton Rouge. Whats the wager on how many are formerly of New Orleans, relocated after Katrina ?

I went down to New Orleans after Katrina for a few weeks to help assist in restoring "order", it was definitely a bad time for the city and the state. I do wonder (but can probably guess) how the surrounding cities crime rates were affected, no wager from me. I try not to be pessismistic, so maybe no significant change. But back on track, it is true the perp(s) are many times connected with the people/location/crime site. The perp(s) are already familar with the area/people and therefore can pick out easy targets,as already said.

That is or was a nice area. I used to live about two minutes from the stumberg/coursey intersection. Back then you never really heard of anything happening in that area.

This is the only reason I advocate background checks before employment through an outside agency to the employer. You really should be aware of who is "working" for you.

Criminal minds work together to perpetrate their crimes on society in general with the help of their brothers who pretend to be honest working folks.

Being "Minnesota Nice", we invited folks fleeing the effects of Katrina to locate here, specifically up at Camp Ripley near Little Falls, but would you believe that they turned away? So, we can't relate to the influx of thugs and scumbags that some areas witnessed.

Houston wants to send our evac's back...violent crime rate has gone way up, and Kat. evacs are lots of times the victims or the perps...they don't want to come back now.

Also, the outlying burbs of NO are experiencing higher crime rates, some say it's because of the Natl guard being there that they are turning to the not-so-suspecting places like Mandeville and Covington for easy pickins.

Got a sister and brother-in-law in Houston that are slightly anti-gun. Got a call about 2 weeks ago seeking advice on a home defense weapon. Suggested a 20 ga pump with #4 buck (they live in a subdivision and over penetration is a concern).

We took some here in Missouri but most are further south from where I am, have heard of some problems but not too many.
