    YAY! It's in the mail!

I just wanted to share my joy with people who would understand.
I mailed off everything for my CHL the day after Independence Day. I was expecting to not receive my CHL for at least 60 days (that's what we were told in my CHL course). Well, I checked the website today and my status has been changed to "Mailed."

    Way to go, Texas!

Congrats on the fresh plastic when it gets there sometime this week! I got mine back in March and it took 39 days mailbox to mailbox. Are you ready for your first CC venture?

I still need to buy my gun. I have a Glock 19 for home use, but it's too big for me to carry on my small frame. I've narrowed it down to a couple of pistols that I plan to test out this next weekend. :)

A 19 is not too big! Have you tried w a good belt and holster? I conceal one with a loose t shirt. FWIW, I'm 6'0" and 195lbs.

If you get a 26 and finger extensions, you might as well carry a 19 in my book. But just my $.02

    So many meanings.

But really, my buddy is 6'2" @ 135lbs, and he carries a Ruger P90.lol
As we used to teach in the spook business, carry a 25 if it makes you feel good, but do not ever load it. If you load it you may shoot it. If you shoot it you may hit somebody, and if you hit somebody - and he finds out about it - he may be very angry with you. -- Jeff Cooper

    Thanks everyone!

Believe you me. I've tried to conceal the G19 on my person while around the house. Not my cup-of-tea. I'll let hubby keep that one. I'm only about 125lbs soaking wet. LOL.
I intend to take a gun-safety course for my own peace of mind (although I'm not really a novice, I haven't gone to the range as regularly as I use to before the kids came along).

    Thanks again! I so stoked!

Good lord, give him a sandwich! But agreed, it's all in how you carry. I'm 6"1" 185 lbs and never had an issue carrying a full-sized auto.
