    My License Arrived

It came in today. I did not make a trip to wal-mart but I did go grocery shopping. The entire time I was checking to see if my outer shirt was hanging where it should be.

My city has these little park like areas that the garden club has built and there is one in particular that I go to when I want to read. I went there today carrying. After about an hour of sitting when I got up to leave my holster had shifted and my shirt was sticking out and the whole rig was about to fall off. I quickly fixed it but I am a bit paranoid that a car full of teenage boys saw my weapon.

I am using a cheap uncle mike's cip on IWB. I think am going to order a Tucker rig but I need to find something better to use until I get it. I don't think I will find anything locally.

Those of you using IWB with clips, have you used the velcro? That is what I was going to go with.

Sounds like you do need the famous belt/custom rig combo - it is really only way to go for reliable carry and max comfort. You might find an off-the-shelf Don Hume or similar to help bridge the gap.

Congrat's on getting the permit thru.

    Thumbs up

Congratulations! Yep, get yourself a good carry rig and don't forget to buy a Gun Belt also. Your belt is just as important as the holster for secure carry.

    Thanks.

I am thinking about going with the horsehide belt from thebeltman.net. It looks like the belt and the holster I want will both take about 3 weeks. I'm going to look locally for something to use until then.

I'll head to wal mart over the weekend at some point, sadly mine does not have a snack bar so I can't get the obligatory nachos. It has a McDonald's in it. I liked the snack bar better. Not so sure about the cheap drugs though.

Congrats. I understand the holster thing. Iíve had my CCW for about two weeks now and have a cheap IWB. Walking around today I felt like I was sticking out like a teenage boy in the girls locker room.

Yes, don't cheap out on a belt, you'd be very surprised how much the belt, a good belt, is for your everyday carry.

Also, getting your permit is like getting a new credit card. On a credit card you have to call the number first to activate, with your CCW, you have to go to Wal-Mart to activate .

    Congrats on your permit!

Now stay out of trouble just like before and carry in good health. Note: Don't use the $10 UM IWB because the clip is a joke. www.Highnoonholsters.com makes @ 13 different IWB ranging from $30 to 80 with a 1 week to 14 week wait.

Another congrats on the new permit.

I just got mine last week! My first trip wasn't to Wally World, though... It was to Walgreen's. Close enough?

Congratulations to both you guys! Order a quality holster, belt and SPARE MAG POUCH! The spare mag is important to ensure a mag related failure won't render you "defenseless" (so to speak). The shops I frequent all carry either Bianchii or Galco for most popular weapons, those should get you through until a custom rig can come in. If you don't have easy access to a gunshop there are TONS of places to buy online.
