Precis: The gunshop owner is also a radio talk show host in Houston--he apparently has a radio ad encouraging folks to get a concealed weapon permit
...some stats quoted by John Gibson:
TX CHP apps have increased by 25%
Of 250K evacuees from LA...120K remain
20% of evacuees are suspects in Houston crimes
<break> <break>
Gunshop owner cites local news interviews where evacuees cite that when FEMA money runs out, they will turn to crime.
The gunshop owner then says something blasphemous (to the left wingers)...police are not your bodyguards, they are good at drawing a chalk line around you and finding out who did it...*You* are responsible for your own safety

Overall, I thought the information was an ok snapshot of CCW![]()
The only part I thought was over the top was when he pushed the message "bigger is better", a la, the .45ACP round...it makes a big hole, see lots of flame when shot at night....yadda yadda
the guy isn't wrong.
So what if he sells guns.

Gun control is hitting what you aim at
Didn't check the link, but that sounds like Jim Pruett.
This guy is a real example of the kind of gun store owner we need to support. I don't know how many times I have been in that store to drool and bought nothing. They still welcome and greet me by name. Of course, I have bought stuff there too, despite slightly higher prices than Gander Mountain, but I can also buy stuff there that you can't at Gander.
Without local FFL's, you can't buy off the internet, so keep them going.
Also, this guy does big work for charity. A top chap all roumd.
It is Jim Pruett. The link works for me when i click on it.

I saw the broadcast on FOX 4 and he's absolutely right. I like his quote, "In Texas we don't carry our guns because we have to, we carry them because we CAN!"
"I'd rather have my gun and not need it, than need it and not have it"
I wanna tell yall something...
it aint just in Texas that the riffraff refugees from New Orleans are causing problems. Anywhere they transplanted themselves they are reverting back to their old ways.
The city of Baton Rouge has been ruined by these thugs and you are taking your life in your hands whenever you walk about. We've even got some here in my hometown that are well known to the cops. Some of the gangbanger wannabees in highschool have caused problems all around and the homefolk are getting very tired of it...

It comes a time in your life when you run across someone you should have never @#$$% with. Allow me to introduce myself!
Jim Pruett is a friend of mine. I have bought several guns and almost all my ammo at his store. He is a genuine patriot and a friend to law enforcement. He does a lot of charity work and he and his family are some of the best people you ever want to meet.
My wife and I were talking to him today, right before he went downtown for an interview on CNN. We came straight home and while we were cleaning our guns from a trip to the range, we watched the interview.
They had him lined up with one of the Katrina refugees and the CNN lady announcer tried to get them at each others throats. Jim did a great job of staying cool and the Katrina representative evaded all questions that she asked. She was the typical media type trying to stir something up, but the guys never took the bait.
If you want to see the Web site of his gunshop it is:

If you are ever in Houston, check out his shop. Yeah his prices are a little higher than Gander Mountain, but he does carry a wider range of pistol and rifle ammo than any of the big box stores. Also, it is just a fun store to hang out in and is one of my weekend haunts.
Found the CNN video. Type "katrina" in the "search video" box. Find and click on "evacuees blamed for crime".
