Passing along that USCCA is now offering a way to subscribe to their magazine, Concealed Carry Magazine, without having to become a member or having to signup for the insurance (Defense Shield) and I thought others may be interested. I received an email today with the info and link.

I was a member from the start and I did not want the insurance at the time and that was the end of that. I don't like when someone put pressure on me to accept their way. Now they changed it, maybe they lost a lot of $.

I saw an older copy of the magazine in the waiting room of my local range. I thought it was a good publication and would have subscribed for a nominal fee. I was disappointed to learn that it was tied to buying their expensive (several hundred dollar) insurance, which I had no interest in.
Thanks for the tip, iguanadon. I like the magazine, but didn't want to sign up for the insurance etc. I'll try this subscription for a while, and if the spam becomes too much of a problem I will bail out.
Under no circumstances do I want Tim and company to have my current email address. I have never been spammed as much as I was after I downloaded their "seven things you have to know" blather.

dear iguanadon: thanks for the information. i was interested in the magazine, but not at the cost of joining. if i do subscribe, i'll do it via printed check and snail mail. i too, got spammed after my electronic inquiries, but not so badly, and not for too long. i think they just gave up on me when i never responded.

I've been on their mailing list for probably 3 months now, hence the reason I got the one today. I almost deleted it without reading it but took a peek at it. I only receive 1 email once a week from them on average. Not sure if that's more or less than what others are experiencing. I did go ahead and buy the 1 year subscription. Now we'll see how full my mailbox gets. ;-)

I got bombarded with their marketing campaign before. Too much hyperbole for me. A little to much Piazza-esque.
All of their products and information are grossly inflated, then they pretend to outrageously slash prices to give you, the extra special customer, the deal of a lifetime that you just can't afford to pass up.
We have better info right here in this forum.

I made the mistake of finding them online and joining for "free" and was also bombarded and are still bombarded with Email marketing.
