Here in Virginia, I took the required course online in about 10 minutes for $19.95. I then took the form down to the Clerk of the Court's office where they took my $50. Got my permit in the mail in exactly 3 weeks. They have 45 days and they must give you a temp. permit after that until you get the permanent one.

How much did you get out of a 10 min. online course? I kinda like the idea of some experienced officers being able to judge the motives and knowledge and gun handling skills of the class myself but that's just me I guess.

Congrats on getting the class completed and the application submitted. The wait can be a pain, but finally getting it in the mail is a good feeling.
