    Nashville?

Heading to Nashville in February to the NWTF Convention. I know that TN honors MO permits, but what else do I need to know? Is the Opryland Hotel and convention center posted?

    Many Thanks!

I've been to the Opryland Hotel on several occasions and do not recall any posted signs. There's multiple entrances there, anyway. It's a beautiful place - don't forget your camera. Mmmm... Four star steak house...

I did not see a sign at the convention center, either. I went there for a car show. There were no metal detectors.

If my memory serves me correctly the mall next to the Opryland is posted. I do not remember Bass Pro Shop being posted however. Lots of neat stuff to do in the area and the barbecue is great....

I've been there once to a conference and I have to say that place is really a nice place. Betty's right about the steak house, absolutely fantastic steaks. At night it is really neat. I don't remember the hotel being posted, I expect the theme park part is, though.

    According to Packing.org:
    << Places off-limits while carrying

It is an offense for a person to possess a firearm within the confines of a building open to the public where liquor, wine or other alcoholic beverage, as defined in 57-3-101(a)(1)(A),. or beer as defined in 57-6-102(1) , are served for on premises consumption.

[This could include the Opryland Hotel if its restaurant serves alcohol]

On the grounds of any public park, playground, civic center or other building facility, area or property owned, used or operated by any municipal, county or state government, or instrumentality thereof, for recreational purposes.

[This could include a convention center if it is government owned and operated]

An individual, corporation, business entity or government entity or agent thereof is authorized to prohibit possession of weapons by any person otherwise authorized by this subsection, at meetings conducted by, or on premises owned, operated, managed or under control of such individual, corporation, business entity or government entity. Notice of such prohibition shall be posted in prominent locations, including all entrances primarily used by persons entering the building, portion of the building or buildings where weapon possession is prohibited.

[Does this mean even the civic centers mentioned above must have a public posting at all entrances to legally prohibit CWs?]

Lawmakers are so very good at weaving a tangle of laws that are difficult for well-meaning law-abiding citizens to understand and obey. Tennesseeans please chime in here. I ride my bike there often and inquiring minds want to know.

As I understand it, the entire Hotel wouldn't be off limits if it isn't posted outside. The restaurants are in their own separate little buildings. The actual bars and restaurants that serve the alcohol would be off limits. I'm not a lawyer, so don't take this as the Final Word! I believe the entrance I took was the Magnolia entrance, and it was not posted, nor did I see signs inside.

A co-worker works there part-time; I'll ask him what the official hotel policy is.

I don't know if the Convention Center is government owned. All the other gov't buildings here have the proper 30.06 signage.

Thanks, folks! I appreciate the information. Sounds just about like it is in Missouri.

While in Nashville do try to make it over to Loveless'Restaraunt for some of their chicken or country ham and red-eye gravy. It's sooooo good.

Also, I believe someone mentioned the theme park @ Opryland. I thought they tore that down and built the Opry Mills Mall on its spot? Can someone please clarify.

I guess that shows how long it's been since I was there

Yes, the theme park is gone and it's now Opry Mills mall.
