Someone you know is killing your dog
Heard a news story today about a man who lives with his mom. Apparently they got into an argument and he began stabbing her dog with a knife. I know a dog is an animal, but to me my dogs are part of my family. How could I do nothing knowing they wouldn't hesitate to protect me and my family. If you intervene who's to say he doesn't turn the knife on you. Do you draw and give verbal warnings? Do you draw and just start shooting? Just got me thinking when I heard this today and was curious what you all thought.
Peace the old fashion way......

In my state a dog is considered property. We cannot defend property. That being said, he/she would have a handful if it were one of my dogs. Thats about all Ill say....

I'd like to say that no human life is more valuable than a dogs...
But I've had some mighty fine dogs in my days...
And known many humans that I'd consider much lower than my worst dog.
FWIW.

What you feel like doing and what you legally can do are two totally different things. Drawing and or shooting someone over an animal, unless possibly a service animal, is going to put you behind bars 99% of the time.

Sometimes I (truly) wish that dueling...was still legal. Things being as they are, I might be up for an assault change, but it wouldn't be with a deadly weapon.

Exactly why it wouldn't be wise for me to post how I would react to a scumbag abusing one of my animals. My pets are everything to me.

Shoot 'em, even if a dog is considered property and the shooting is not defensible on those grounds. He had a knife, he stabbed my dog and then he came for me.
BANG!

BANG!

You would advocate killing a man then lying about it to authorities? Careful now.

A definite act of physical aggression with a deadly weapon. I would consider it a precursor of what was next for me and act accordingly.

Hell, who cares if you kill him or not. Probably better if you didn't to be honest.
He had a knife, he stabbed my dog and then he came for me.
That'd be my story. And I'm stickin' to it.
