My wife thinks its funny...
So i have been looking into getting a carry permit, I have to have hunters safety or a nra class to get one. I asked my wife if she ever took hunters safety, turns out she did and went and found the certificate still had it after 30 years. Now she thinks its funny she can go apply for a carry permit and i have to wait to take a class.

What does a hunters ed class have to do with CCW anyways?
If light rails were needed on handguns John Browning would have included it on the 1911.

In many states a Hunter's Safety class is all you need to apply for a permit. It is simply a gun handling thing for some states. Others have more stringent requirements.

Hey, I'm glad you found that thing.
I found my NRA Hunter's Safety card in 1999. I had gotten it in 1978 and not seen it in between.
I carry it, along with my DL, CCW and Hunting License everywhere, every day.

I had to go to Fish and Game and get a copy of my hunters safety card, but they still had the records after 20 years. That's all I needed to get my CCW as well.

I still have mine from New York State, back ing the early 1960's. When I used it to get a hunting permit a few years ago in Maryland they asked where the "number" was. They weren't sure what to do when I told them my class "pre-dated" numbers!

Virginia Accepts Your DD-214
Being retired Air Force I just took in my DD-214, Military Discharge form, and they made a copy and that was it. I paid my money and waited out the background check.
Next year I have to renew and am hoping the state legislature approves funding for a change in the law passed last year that makes permits lifetime. If they pass the funding before August I'm golden!
The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that's good.

Your right. I recommend everyone get more training on the laws for their state, options on carring and more shooting instruction.

You: I don't want you getting your permit before me!
Her: Oh yeh! I think I will!
You: Ok go do it then!
Then driver her down to get her permit. Then you can both carry!
