    Class

This may sound like a dumb question, but for the class you have to take before submitting your application, they have you go out and shoot with them. How to they score you on it?

depends on the place .. we used blank targets about 8x10 all they counted was if you could keep them all on the paper

That was as much as they worried about there was no real scoring of the targets

In my class, they didn't "score" at all.
You either kept your shots within the outer ring, or you didn't, and I don't recall anyone not doing so out of around 40 people.
If you don't shoot the instructor by accident and keep 'em on the paper, you'll pass.

Our class shot first thing in the morning, and one of the guys in our class asked later if he could keep his target.
This may have been for real or a joke, I don't know, but the instructor said that they destroy ALL targets when a class is over so that it couldn't be used against us in a potential court case involving a defensive shooting.
He said that if we passed but weren't that good, the DA would use the target to prove that we weren't very well trained.

I think he was joking, but you never know in this PC environment.
