CC'd for the first time today.
Picked up my permit today and CC'd for the rest of the day. Although I have to say I'm somewhat disappointed that I DIDN'T do the Wally Walk!
I was somewhat self-conscious at first but quickly got past it. SA has been way up since making the decision several months back, so not much change there.
Almost 2 months to the day since taking the class.
The outing including going to see a movie with my wife. Ironically it was the Aurora, CO incident that finally pushed me to get it done in the first place. Additionally, the movie I saw (Atlas Shrugged Part II) could be seen as controversial and a potential target for a mass shooting, except of course for the fact that here there's significant potential here for encountering "resistance".

Woohoo!! Ain't it a good feeling? I hear ya about being self-conscious... took me a lot longer than a day to get over it, though. Congrats

I'm not! IMO the "WWalk" is about the goofiest thing ever. I used to think it was just a tongue-in-cheek spoof until I realized some people actually were serious about it.
But hey, congrats on your new status. The self-consciousness will wear off soon enough.

Congrats. Quit adjusting your holster on the sly. Quit checking your clothes on the sly. Those were the next Second steps for me.

Congrats on your new permit.

IMO, the thing that's almost as bad as the Wally-Walk is coming on a forum to get a pat on the back from strangers for carrying a gun.
Just do it and go on with your life.

.
On the other hand if you can make it in and out of Walmart without shooting anything you have passed a test proving that you can be trusted to carry a gun.

Um, I was joking about the Wally Walk thing, although I do think it's a funny running gag.
EDC is a Springfield XD40 Subcompact.
I see the declaration of the first CC on this site as a show of support for the CC community, and notice to wolves that their livelihood just got a little riskier.

Congratulations on your CC permit & your first day of carrying! It feels good, doesn't it.
I have yet to do the Wally Walk. Mainly because Walmarts in Milwaukee don't sell ammo so therefore have no reason to go there, lol. Eventually I'll shop there & will definitely carry. I do all the time anyhow. It's become second nature to me since I was licensed in May.
