Wow, pretty scary! Glad you and your kids are safe and sound at home. Don't know that I would handled it that way, but good job DAD!

Glad you're okay. I agree that I doubt I would get within slashing distance of a knife-wielding guy,
but I won't second guess a good result!

I like to think that if someone pulled a knife on me (especially with my kids anywhere NEAR him) I would draw, fire until he stopped moving, and call 911. I would not chance losing the fight and then having my kids defenseless while I am laying in a pool of my own blood. Nope, you pull a weapon, I pull my equalizer.

It makes no difference what anybody thinks. The important things are you were not harmed, your kids were not harmed, the clerk was not harmed, and the BG hopefully is on his way to jail. The fact that you are able to tell the story and your kids are alright are all that really matters. BTW you did just fine.

Yeah jail doesn't sound like a fun time, looking at the big picture if I did draw the look on his face would have been priceless holding a pocket knife staring down the barrel of my 45. The thought keeps crossing my mind ... would he have ran away, if he didn't??.... but I'm just glad to be sitting here knowing the kids are fast asleep safe in there beds

You did a great job of handling the situation.

This just goes to show you, that you can be confronted by an evil threat at any time...even at 9:30am while getting eggs...Always be prepared.

Gas stations are a necessary evil. All these stories seem to start at a gas station.

Good job taking advantage of the opening. I've half jokingly told my girls that if I reach for my gun they need to cover their ears and duck.

Sad thing is that he will get out of Jail, and he may do it again, unless he gets clean, or next time gets Glocked, instead of Clocked.

    Glad it worked out OK

I am glad it worked out, no such thing as a safe time of day any more!

Great result. If you can handle a situation without pulling a trigger that's a good thing. Disparity of force and all that, a liberal prosecutor could make your life pretty difficult.

But other than that I'm tempted to call BS on the whole story. I have a vehicle that matches your avatar sitting in my garage. I can't drive past a gas station without having to fill up. No way you went to buy eggs and Copenhagen and didn't have to put at least a few bucks worth in the tank.
