Wow, that stinks. I had mine like a week after I submitted the paperwork.

The State office says it is the number of submittals. They have less than ten folks taking care of thousands of sumittals. At least that is what I understand about it.

Same thing happened in FL a few years back, swamped the folks processing the applications. At the time it took every bit of the 90 days they had to issue a licence, bur much quicker now.

    Patience--it will happen.

In Kansas they have 90 days to process it, some have got it quicker. It's great to hear they are flooded with apps, sorry your one of them OP. I'm about to find out how long a renewal takes.

A few years back Tx has 60 days from when they open the APP IIRC and not when they receive it,they were swamped by so many resident/non resident APPS that they had to request additional manpower to wade thru the backlog, some CHL's were taking almost twice as long as they were supposed to be issued in.
One thing you can do is wear the gun around your house to get use to carrying it,that way when the time comes you won't feel like you have an enormous growth on your hip everyone can see. Also with an unloaded firearm and with no ammo in the same room you can practice drawing from concealment. The time will pass fairly quick

Michigan has built into the law that gives the counties 45 days to issue.

If they fail to have it ready and issued, if you demand they issue a temp, until they clear up their mess.

In Arkansas the state gives your County of residence and also City if you live in one, 30 days to comment, so you are guaranteed at least a month. The rest of the delays are FBI. If you had an interesting security clearance in the past they are going to look a little deeper.

It is is exactly the same here in Virginia. Mine took 3 weeks. I think they could have done it in about 10 minutes but they wanted to justify the $50 fee.

    Thumbs down

I think that the Kansas wait time of 90 days is ridiculous. I'm currently at 58 days since I turned my paperwork in. The AG office said it would take close to the full 90 days and it takes them about a week to receive your app from the county also
. So add another 7 days to that.
