Head of a Wisconsin group wants concealed carry records made public
"It's really hard to do a fair assessment," said Jeri Bonavia, of the Wisconsin Anti-Violence Effort. She objects to the secrecy surrounding who has a concealed carry license.
As for what's next, Bonavia said her group will continue to push for public access to the names of license holders.
Wisconsin's Concealed Carry Law marks first anniversary | News - WISN Home
In the above article Nik Clark said his organization(Wisconsin Carry) wants to bring what's called "constitutional carry" in Wisconsin. That allows law-abiding citizens to carry concealed weapons without any kind of permit. Only four states allow full constitutional carry now.
My thought..... Regardless of the many issues over making these records public Jeri Bonavia fails to take into account the criminals would also have access to know who possibly has weapons. This will more than likely cause a rise in home break ins in hope of "scoring" weapons.
Don't we already have far too many(false safety) laws on the books that do nothing to stop crime/violence/shootings.......
