    Mag carriers instead of your pocket unless it is for a very short period of time. Regular maintenance also.

    Any environment that has inherent issues like dust or sand takes extra vigilance for your weapon and mags.

    Zip lock bags in my car. I like that solution; if I need spare mags on me, I'll be having them in a mag carrier.

    The first time I cleaned it was after I initially took it to the range and put a couple boxes of range reload ammo through it using that particular mag. It was pretty dirty afterwards and I tookit apart and cleaned it. I'm not sure what made me check it when I did. I was looking at the mag and just decided to pull a round out of it...and noticed the next one didn't advance up.

    Every since junior high school I've made it a point to never get caught with "dirty magazines" :)
