I waited for the appointment at the regional office longer than I waited for the card. 2 months for the appt, 16 days later for the license.

I applied for mine on November 1 2011, and received it in the mail a year ago tomorrow, November 15th 2011. When you consider mail time, they turned it around in under two weeks at the office.

Congrats. When I first saw the thread title I wondered if the story was going to be "and I am still waiting".

Good for you man! I applied for my ccw license 4 business days ago and just got the call today, sadly my phone was off and I didn't get te voice mail until the sherrifs office was closed. So all I have to do tomorrow is call the sherrifs office and set up a time for me to go pick it up! I can believe it only took 4 days because they have 45 days to reject or grant you the license. Everyone wish me luck! Praying that they have a spot open tomorrow so I can start carrying

Glad you got it though! The wait makes it sweeter when you get it.

Isn't there a max time limit element in the CHL statutes, in WI? If not, then perhaps it's time to push hard for just such a thing. If there's going to be concealed carry, then the only thing waiting a year to deal with apps "solves" is to increase the time of upstanding citizens being unarmed.

Congrats on the new CHL, by the way.

Well, if this isn't a good reason to buy another gun (anniv. gift) than I don't know what is..

Exactly the same here! But it's done now and I haven't shot anyone like the "anti's" said we would.

Happy anniversary, Buckwheat! I had to wait until May to apply for mine. I'm ashamed to say that I just couldn't come up with a spare $50. I guess 3 years without a job is showing. It took me 8 days from the day I put the application in the mail to get the CCL. A little freelance Private Detective work at least got me enough money to get a gun in late June. I could have borrowed the Glock 23 I gave my son if it wouldn't have happened.

Two points. 1. "I'm from the government and I am here to help"---this is a truism. In the case of your CCWP, help means wait until I get to it, I'm busy on my crossword puzzle. 2. With budget concerns all over the place kindly answer a question---If you had to lay off a highway patrol officer or some person who processes CCWPs, who would you lay off? ---I may not know for sure what your answer is but my response is leave highway patrol alone and lay off the administrative officers.
Either answer gives you the cause.
