These are sweaters, shirts, sweats for wearing in cold climates that allow your weapon to be exposed under your jacket without having to lift the sweater, shirt or sweat top to access your weapon. l
They have an elastic slot on the side that opens and tucks around and behind your holster (assuming you carry on your belt as I do....looks sorta like this picture of a guy in gray slacks and a dark red sweater.
You can throw on a coat and you're good to go......

A shoulder rig seems a lot easier.

possibly, but I hate shoulder rigs..much more comfy for me in belt holster and for me easier to get to even with a jacket on...I'm a wee bit of a stomach stick out with short arms...and shoulder rigs seem cumbersome to me personally but thanks for the comment...it is appreciated

There are many ways to carry in colder months. There isn't a "one size fit all" way to carry. Each CC'er will have to find what works best for him/her.

Just so I'm not confused (it's easy for me). Do the "sweaters, shirts & sweats" all have this elastic slot that allows my holster to poke through the outside of the same "sweaters, shirts & sweats" for access?

Something similiar for cops already, plus if I take my coat off, my firearm is visible. I'll keep it under a shirt or sweater and call it good. Plus the friction will prob eat away at the material, fray etc.

No Spec it was not...I created that in Paint as a representation of shirts, sweaters and sweats I am having created for my own use..Was just interested if anyone else has any interest or insight about the concept of being able to dress for cold weather and have gun readily available.

It is just a personal thing with me but I like holsters with more muzzle coverage to prevent scuffs and bangs. The thumbbrake I do like though.

It gets cold around here in the winter and when wearing a heavy coat or parker over another layer or so of insulation I put my handgun in an outer pocket. Most outer winter garments have pockets that are roomy enough for me to easily have any of my handguns at the ready.

If I'm wearing a coat anyway, I just OWB & call it done.

Not for me. I pocket carry or go OWB.
I don't carry a gun to look for or start a fight. I carry one to finish a fight I never wanted to be in.

Most of the year, here, anyone wearing a coat, or jacket, is probably packing!
Of course, most of the year, here, most people are packing anyway!
