URGENT- How to secure weapon driving through Illinois?

MI doesn't honor ANY non-resident permit....but they do honor ALL states' permits.

Awww... The double-punch to Illinoisans. So, just like IL, the only people who can't carry (period) in MI are the people from IL.

This place sucks.

I traveled to IL for the Area 5 USPSA match - 2 guns (3 if you count my carry gun) 500 rounds of ammo (or more) and travel into the last state with no carry. Guns were in locked box in trunk, ammo in the middle (back seat) and mags empty in my range bag in the front - while this may sound like a journey into OCD I don't trust IL and FOPA or IL requirements especially around Chicago can mean nothing. Didn't get stopped, had an fun match and good experience despite IL. The other interesting thing is the number of significant gun places in IL - Springfield Armory, Rock Island Armory, AR, Canyon Creek etc. Only go when I have to is a good bit of advice.
