Like many gun related questions, it depends on the laws of the state your in. Research the laws of your state, and states you travel to. A good example is TX/OK. Texas has no caliber restriction. If you want and are able to to carry something in .50 AE your good to go. The minute you cross the border into Oklahoma, your breaking the law. Nothing over .45 caliber is allowed for carry.
Freedom doesn't come free. It is bought and paid for by the lives and blood of our men and women in uniform.

When I took my CC class the instructor told us about a sheriff's deputy friend of his who pulled a bad-ass looking biker over for a routine traffic stop. He asked if he was carrying any weapons. Biker said, "Yeah, I got a .45 in a holster at 4:00." Anything else? "Uh-huh, a .38 in my waistband." Any more? "Yeah, a .380 in my boot." Deputy asks him why he carries so many guns. Biker says, "Because I can!" He had his CCP so it was all perfectly legal.
Here we can only have 3 specific guns on the permit. Must "qualify" with each, unless it is a renewal or a modification.

It would be nice when people are answering a question for the state they live in if they said what state they live in.

According to Nebraska laws for concealed carry, no specification is made and no state prohibition on more than one.
I also have a retired lawman (federal) concealed carry license. Good news and bad news: I can carry almost anywhere in the country, but am limited to THE pistol with which I qualify (once a year).

An oldie but a goodie.
Here in Colorado I can carry as many as I want any way I want, and actually when we were looking for a rental house here we were out in the surrounding countryside. Stopped at a Burger King and there was a horse tied to a tree outside with a rifle in a scabbard, guy inside wearing cowboy attire (hat, boots, chaps, vest) wearing a western gun belt with single action revolver and a knife with about a 10" blade and no one payed him any attention.
From NY, good question. I really don't know. But, I carry 2 because any note would be ridiculous.
As many as I want, as long as I can stand and walk.
Depends on how many clothes you wear.......
A word to the wise isn't necessary, save it for the stupid
In SC as many has you can keep hidden from the general eye.
XD .45, Glock 23, SIG 229, Mossberg 590A, M&P 15 Rossi 641, RIA 1911

That's easy.......in New Jersey the answer is........0.......ZERO.
New Mexico is the only state that restricts you to carrying one firearm concealed. You can carry one concealed and 100 openly at the same time but only one concealed. Some states list on your permit/license what firearms you are allowed to carry by ser # etc. You carry all that are listed on your Permit/license if you wish.
Oklahoma is the only state that restricts you to the largest cal you can carry. In OK it is max of .45
In Iowa, it's up to you.
I once carried four to see if I could pull it off. SIG 229 strong side, Glock 32 weak side, 1911 SOB (a horrible carry method), and a SIG 238 in a pocket. Foolish, but won 20 bucks. Or maybe my friend just wanted to see if I was dumb enough to do it, which I was.
Two is plenty.
